What are Light the World Giving Machines?
Vending machines where donating to charity is as easy as buying a candy bar.

How do the Giving Machines work?
Insert payment, select an item and a card representing your gift drops into a bin so you can watch the donations
pile up. The machines keep a running total of all purchases made. Your information is not collected or shared.

How can I pay?
Credit card or mobile pay – just like a regular vending machine. (Sorry, no cash.)

Where are the Giving Machines?
A bank of four machines will be in downtown Denver at Writer Square, at the corner of Larimer and 15th Street. Plan your trip.

When are the Giving Machines open?
Machines operate 24/7 Thanksgiving through New Year's Day. Volunteers will be there noon to 8 p.m.

What charities can I donate to at a Giving Machine?

What can I give?
You can select from 30 different items ranging from ducks to diapers, gardening tools to groceries, lettuce to
lumber. Each charity has specified items they need the most.

How much can I donate?
Items range from $5 to $250. You can purchase multiple items in a single transaction up to $3000.

Why donate at a Giving Machine instead of some other way?

  • All of your donation – 100% – buys the item you select for the people you want to help. Machine costs and
    credit card fees are covered by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
  • You get to actually see and choose what to give.
  • The whole family can get involved in giving in a tangible way. And bring friends!
  • Enjoy everything downtown Denver has to offer during the holidays!

Is my donation at the Giving Machines tax-deductible?
Donations are eligible for tax deductions. Receipts will be available by text or email. Donations may also be
eligible for employer matching programs.
